Athletics

The Basilica School of St. Paul forms the whole person which includes not only his/her intellectual and spiritual growth but also the physical and social development of every student. A comprehensive athletics program provides students, beginning in Kindergarten, to play seasonal sports throughout the school year.  Through the Catholic Youth Sports League students can play a variety of sports including:

  • Flag football

  • Soccer

  • Volleyball

  • Basketball

  • Track & Field

Sports teams compete against other Catholic and private schools in Volusia County during the season that the sport is played. For more information about the Volusia County Catholic Youth Sports League or to view the games schedule, click the button below.

As representatives of the Basilica School of St. Paul, all team members learn not only how to play a sport but also the value of teamwork and disclipline.  Students learn to represent their school with good sportsmanship and honorable actions and attitudes.

Clubs and Organizations

Basilica of St. Paul students go beyond just academics, taking part in numerous school clubs, school functions, and community service projects. The many clubs and activities offered endeavor to enrich each student's life by providing a source for students to develop their talents and interests. Serving as a basis for socialization and peer interest, clubs allow students to meet and form friendships with other students who may or may not share the same academic classes but share interests. Clubs provide leadership opportunities and self-esteem building experiences beyond those which are academic. Through projects, students bond as well as practice responsible behavior. Many projects heighten social awareness and help to develop social empathy. Although club participation is optional, students are encouraged to participate.

Faith Formation

We offer children and families of all faiths a strong, supportive environment in which to nurture spiritual and character development.

Central to our curriculum is our religious instruction in which our students learn the truths and values of our Catholic faith. All students, regardless of religious affiliation or denomination, take religious instruction and attend all liturgies and prayer services. Students have the opportunity to help plan liturgy and to participate in various roles during Mass. Students participate in grade-level liturgies on a regular basis and in all-school liturgies on Holy Days of Obligation.
Special prayer services are held throughout the year and morning/afternoon prayer is a part of our daily announcements. Children are given the opportunity for reception of the Sacrament of Reconciliation twice a year.
